Pay attention to these different signs for caregiver burnout:

  • Dramatic changes in behavior such as mood swings
  • Not getting enough sleep or sleeping too much
  • Losing close friendships and not wanting to attend socializations
  • Depression or anxiety
  • Poor eating habits such as eating too much or not eating enough
  • Turning to alcohol, drugs or sleeping pills.

Realizing you can’t do it all on your own is important. Reach out to others to get outside help and decrease your stress level.
