Caregivers may not want to receive help from others outside the home since they may think no one else can provide the same level of care as them. Although they may not want to ask for help, it’s in their best interest as they may be taking on too much. There are different ways caregivers can receive help such as bringing someone in the home to help with bathing or bring their loved one to an adult day health center.
There also may come a time for moving your loved one outside the home and into another setting. You may not be able to provide the right care for them anymore or your health or your loved one’s health is failing. It’s important to realize you are still their caregiver although they no longer live with you.
